Internal Alterations - House Renovations

(loadposition in article}

Exciting times. I finally have Planning Permission and Building Control Approval. However, I have some internal work to do before I can get going on the new extension.

I plan to knock down my existing single storey. It is solid brick, not very warm, a little damp and the walls have bowed out over the years. Unfortunately, it houses my only bathroom, the kitchen and the boiler. Not the ideal services to be without for a prolonged period. So, though it is a lot of work on my part, I plan to build a temporary kitchen and shower/toilet room in the large room created by removing an internal wall - the room that will ultimately be our new lounge.

I'm not sure if I am mad to do this, but if it works out ok it will mean we can live here in relative comfort whilst I build the extension.

Here goes the first scary bit.
